Swissloop is unveiling the new Hyperloop pod, and we’ll be there!

We are delighted to be sponsoring the Swissloop Pod this year – alongside 3D Systems.

Hyperloop is pursuing the vision of climate-friendly high-speed transport. Inside a low-pressure tube, the pod levitates above the track without making contact, aided by electromagnetic systems. As air and rolling resistance are almost completely eliminated, speeds of over 1,000 km/h are theoretically possible.

New technologies for the 2025/26 season

This year’s prototype builds on the successes of previous years and incorporates numerous technical advancements:

  • Further development of the two-stage booster-cruise propulsion system for greater efficiency and performance with reduced material usage
  • Improved reliability of the electromagnetic levitation system
  • A lighter and more compact pressurised cabin with a new opening mechanism
  • First-ever demonstration of a lane-changing system on a reduced scale as a basis for implementation at full scale
  • Development of an energy-recovery system that recovers braking energy and can inductively charge the pod at the end of the track

As part of our partnership, we are supporting the team in the manufacture of specific components using our 3D printers from 3D Systems. In doing so, we are enabling the reliable and high-quality production of key components and actively supporting the team in transforming their design into functional, precision-manufactured parts.

Additive manufacturing plays a crucial role in this – both for the rapid iteration of components and for the realisation of complex, lightweight yet highly stable structures.

Our collaboration with the Swissloop team is particularly valuable to us, as it demonstrates how closely innovation, research and industrial practice are intertwined. At the same time, it enables direct exchange with young talents who are actively shaping the mobility of the future.

We are proud to be part of this project and look forward to continuing to accompany and actively support the development of the Swissloop Pod.
